Meet Bry!

Hello! I’m Bry, owner and lead designer here at Arcadia Staging in Tigard, Oregon, A small suburb of Portland Oregon. Ever since I can remember, it has been important to me to have a career that I truly enjoyed. As a little girl, I wanted to be a dolphin trainer. My grandmother introduced me to the majestic animals, and I couldn’t help but want to be around them. A dolphin trainer seemed like an incredibly enjoyable career. My father worked an emotionally taxing job and I saw the effects it had on him. Most adults seemed to hate their jobs and I did not want that for myself. I wanted to do something I loved, something fun! I stuck with my dream for a long time, I even started my degree in animal science. Then, after a lot of contemplation, I realized that my dreams had changed. But my passion for wanting to do something I loved had stayed constant. But what could that be!? It seemed every practical job was incredibly boring and mentally taxing. Not only did I want a career that was enjoyable, but I wanted a career that would be cohesive with having a family, another dream of mine. Along with that I also wanted something that was lucrative that could support that family. Those three requirements seemed impossible to find.
Interior Design Expert in Portland, Or
I have always loved design. When I was little, growing up near Portland, I would decorate my room with random items I would find throughout my house. I had considered interior design before but thought that it wasn’t practical. I had thought that there was no demand and little profit to be had in the industry. It still was always at the back of my mind. During my undergrad, I had a career development class where we were required to interview someone in a career we were interested in. One of our family friends was an interior designer in the Portland Oregon area, I chose her to interview with and I am so glad I did! During our interview I discovered that not only was there demand in the industry throughout all of Oregon, it also was lucrative! I was so excited! I finally was excited for a career and started researching design schools that night.

Heritage School of Interior Design in Portland, Or
During my research I discovered Heritage School of Interior Design in Portland Oregon. Soon I was packing my bags and moving to Portland! I loved design school. Heritage School of Interior Design was the perfect school for me and one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Home Staging in Portland Oregon
Towards the end of my time at Heritage School of Interior Design I took a course on home staging. I fell in love! I loved interior design but felt like staging was my true calling. After graduating and becoming a certified interior designer and home stager, I landed a job with a local staging company in Portland as their lead designer. Since then, I have staged over 100 homes in the Portland and surrounding areas such as Lake Oswego, Oregon City, Newberg, Canby, West Linn, Sherwood, Beaverton, Clackamas, Tigard, Tualatin, Milwaukie, Gresham, Hillsboro, Wilsonville, Aurora, Salem, Happy Valley, Woodburn.

Entrepreneur Turned Home Staging Expert
I’ve always been a dreamer and entrepreneur. I loved the idea of owning my own business and being my own boss. When I took the staging course, I knew I wanted to start my own home staging company one day. It also helps that my husband also has the heart of an entrepreneur and has been so supportive along the way!
